Walkable to Legacy Food Hall and the shops, with pools, workspaces and room for the whole group.

When to come

North Texas runs on two seasons that genuinely work. October and November, when the heat finally lets go and every patio in Plano fills back up. Then March into early May, before it turns again, when the bluebonnets are out along the tollway.

Everywhere below is somewhere we send guests. Nothing here is sponsored and nothing is filler.

Coffee

Local Good Coffee on Legacy Drive. It's a coffee shop with three lit pickleball courts attached, which sounds like a gimmick right up until you have spent an hour there. They pour Lemma, roasted over in Coppell, and the courts run to ten at night.

Dinner

Haywire at Legacy West if you want the hand cut steak and the room that goes with it. If the group would rather graze and stop negotiating about it, Legacy Food Hall is a short walk and everybody orders something different.

One thing to do

Arbor Hills Nature Preserve on West Parker Road, about fifteen minutes west. Two hundred acres of prairie and creek bottom with a lookout tower at the top of it, and almost nobody who visits Plano knows it's there.

    West Parker Road, ten minutes out. Prairie, woods and a lookout tower, and the best free hour in Plano.

  • Legacy Food Hall

    Twenty odd kitchens under one roof with live music most nights. Solves the big group problem.

  • Local Good Coffee

    Coffee plus three pickleball courts on Legacy Drive. Take the kids, stay two hours.

  • Mexican Sugar

    Legacy North. Elevated Mexican and the margarita list people actually come for.

  • The Shops at Legacy East

    CRU for wine and a cheese board, Half Shells for oysters. Both walkable from the other.
