The house, in his words

The second bedroom is the one to look at first. It takes a queen over queen bunk, which is two full queen mattresses stacked, and the room comfortably sleeps four. Four of your six are in there together, which is worth agreeing on before you book. The first bedroom has a king on a memory foam mattress, and there are room darkening shades in both.

Everything is on one level, with its own front entrance and its own living room. There is a large Smart TV, a stack of board games, and a kitchen you can cook a full dinner in rather than reheat one. The coffee setup makes cappuccinos and lattes, takes Nespresso compatible capsules, and has a built in frother. One of the two bathrooms has a tub, which matters if you’re washing a small child.

Wifi runs at 670 Mbps. The crib, the pack and play and the high chair are already here. That’s three things you don’t have to get in the car.

The dining and the shopping are a short drive away, and so is Universal Kids Resort, which opened in July and is built for ages three to eight.

Coffee

Local Good Coffee on Legacy Drive. It's a coffee shop with three lit pickleball courts attached, which sounds like a gimmick right up until you’ve spent an hour there. They pour Lemma, roasted over in Coppell, and the courts run to ten at night.

Dinner

Haywire at Legacy West if you want the hand cut steak and the room that goes with it. If the group would rather graze and stop negotiating about it, Legacy Food Hall is a short walk and everybody orders something different.

One thing to do

Arbor Hills Nature Preserve on West Parker Road, a short drive west. Two hundred acres of prairie and creek bottom with a lookout tower at the top of it, and almost nobody who visits Plano knows it's there.

Is it cheaper to book here than on Airbnb?

Yes, by roughly 10 percent on the same nights. A booking site adds its commission to the nightly rate and charges it on the cleaning fee too. On a three night weekend that is usually somewhere between $70 and $210 depending on the house. Checked 2026-08-31.

When do I get the address and the door code?

Straight after you book, from Hospitable. We show the area on this page rather than the street, because the house is somebody else’s home the rest of the time.

Can I bring a dog?

Yes. Add them to the guest count before you check the total, so the price you see is the price you pay.

What if I need to cancel?

Cancel within 24 hours of booking and you get everything back, as long as you booked at least 7 days before check in. After that the booking is non refundable. The exact terms for your dates are confirmed on the checkout page before you pay, and repeated in your confirmation. Checked 2026-09-05. Nothing is charged on this site. If your plans move, tell me early, because early is when I can usually do something useful.
