What this site does with your details

Please read this first

This is a plain English description of what actually happens, written from the code that runs this site. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer, and it should be reviewed by one before launch.

Last updated 3 September 2026.

The short version

This is a static site. There are no accounts and no passwords, we set no cookies, and there is no analytics, no advertising pixel and no third party tracker on any page. The only thing you can send us from here is a request for a price, and that carries your dates and how many people are coming, nothing about you.

Browsing the site

Reading these pages sends us nothing. The pages are files, served from Amazon CloudFront. Like any web host, their network necessarily sees the request, including the address it came from, in order to send the page back to you.

The house photographs are served from the same place as the pages themselves, so loading a house asks no other company for anything. The typefaces are the ones already on your device, so there is no font service watching you read.

There is one exception, and it is yours to make. Each house shows a button rather than a map. Press it and your browser fetches the map from OpenStreetMap, which is the only moment another company is contacted while you browse. Leave it alone and they never hear from you. The point we hand them is rounded to about a hundred metres, because this site shows the area and never the door.

When you ask for a price

Asking for a price is the one moment something leaves your browser. It sends the house you picked, your check in and check out dates, how many adults, children, infants and pets are coming, and whether you entered a code. It does not send your name, your email address, your phone number or anything about your card, because the service that receives it does not accept those fields at all.

Our quote service passes that on to Hospitable to price the stay, and passes the answer back to you. It writes one line to our own server log for each request so that we can see when pricing breaks and stop somebody abusing it. That line holds the house, the dates, the guest counts, whether a code was used and how the request turned out. Your address is recorded only as a short one way hash of it, which is enough to notice one machine sending a thousand requests and not enough to be a record of who visited.

When you book

The last step of a booking happens on Hospitable's checkout, not here. They take your name, your contact details, your card and your ID verification, they are the merchant of record for the payment, and their privacy policy governs everything you type on that page. We never see or hold your card number.

Once you have booked, we do see the booking. That means your name, your contact details, your dates and your party size, because we need them to get the house ready and to send you the address and the door code. We use them to host you and for our own records, and we do not sell them or hand them to anybody who is not part of looking after the house.

If you email us

Then we have your email and whatever you wrote in it, which is rather the point. It sits in our mailbox with the rest of our correspondence. We do not add you to a mailing list because you asked a question.

Cookies

This site sets none. That is why you have not been asked to dismiss a banner about them. Hospitable's checkout is their own site and sets its own, and their policy covers that.

The calendar

The availability you see is a copy of our own calendar that rebuilds every half hour, on a schedule, whether or not anybody is on the site. It is not built from anything about you and it does not change because you looked at it.

Children

This site is for adults booking a stay. We do not knowingly collect anything about a child. A booking records how many children are in the party, which is a number and nothing more, because the house has to be set up for them.

Asking us what we hold

Email stay@staybeyond.casa and ask. If you have stayed with us, we will tell you what we have about your booking, and correct or delete what we can while still keeping the records we are required to keep. For anything you typed into the checkout, ask Hospitable as well, because that copy is theirs.

Changes to this page

If we ever add analytics, or anything else that watches how the site is used, this page says so before it ships and the date at the top changes with it. A privacy page that describes the site as it was is worse than none.
