Hand painted walls, so the furniture, shelving, picture frames and moldings look drawn straight onto the surface. What you sleep in, cook with and sit on is real. Five bedrooms and space for twelve, with two bathrooms between them, which is worth working out before a big group books.

The house, in his words

Shelving, picture frames, moldings and furniture are drawn flat onto the walls, storybook style, and the real furniture then stands in front of it at full size. Downstairs, a gas fireplace with a 65 inch Smart TV over it. On the counter, a Philips Series 3300 for espresso, hot or iced, and a Keurig beside it when you’re in a hurry.

Bedroom five is four twin beds in one room. That’s where four of the twelve sleep, and it’s the difference between this house and a house with five doubles. The master has a king, its own Smart TV and a soaking tub. Every bedroom has a television and a memory foam mattress, and both bathrooms have a bidet. There’s no half bath, so those two are the whole provision.

Coffee

Java and Friends on Main Street in East Greenville, five minutes up the road and two doors from the old Grand Theater, so the two make an easy evening together. If you want a proper sit down breakfast instead, the Valley Cafe on Quakertown Avenue does an omelette roughly the size of your forearm.

Dinner

Jamison Publick House, out on Geryville Pike. It's the place people around here name first when you ask, and it holds up to the billing. The seafood is better than a country pub has any business serving.

One thing to do

The Grand Theater on Main Street in East Greenville. A restored old movie house about two miles away that still runs films most nights. It costs almost nothing and it beats another evening of scrolling for something to watch.

Can I bring a dog?

What if I need to cancel?

Cancel within 24 hours of booking and you get everything back, as long as you booked at least 7 days before check in. After that the booking is non refundable. If your plans move, tell me early, because early is when I can usually do something useful.
